Urban Delivery was commissioned to advise the London Borough of Brent to advise on the potential regeneration of a large employment area immediately to the east of the new Wembley Stadium. The area is allocated for strategic employment land containing a range of relatively low-grade land uses. The land is in fragmented ownership and speculative plans were being promoted. The Council identified that the area could benefit from a co-ordinated approach.
The challenge was to create a framework that would encourage and guide future development around the stadium and demonstrate how it could compliment the location and support the growth of the local economy. Significant economic analysis was undertaken to show existing gaps and future potential. Advice was also given on how to deliver change, including the use of CPO powers to support comprehensive and co-ordinated change.
